How does smoking affect your oral health?

PUBLISHED ON 04 AUGUST, 2021

If you're a smoker it's always a great time to quit the habit! Smoking cigarettes and tobacco is a major contributor to poor oral health and hygiene. Smoking is one of the leading causes of gum disease not to mention all of the additional health complications caused by smoking.

Additionally, if you're trying to get off the smokes or you have moved over to e-cigarettes or vaping, you're still putting your oral health at risk. The smoke from e-cigarettes may seem less harmful but can contain other chemicals particularly if the 'vaping juice' contains nicotine.
