The development of dental implants has revolutionised dental health care and restored the smiles of people all over the world. Developed from medical grade titanium, a dental implant is placed in the jawbone and becomes a substitute for a missing tooth root and a solid foundation to which a crown or bridge may be secured.

The procedure for receiving a dental implant is usually a two-stage process with placement of the implant for most people taking between 1-2 hours. For the placement of your implant, you will be referred to one of our selected and highly accomplished specialists.

After placement, your implant is left to bond with your jawbone, a process that may take several months, during which time the dentist may make a temporary crown or bridge, allowing you to retain full mouth function and smile appearance.

Once healed, your temporary teeth are removed, replaced with your new permanent teeth so you can enjoy a rejuvenated, healthy, natural looking new smile.

Depending on your current oral and overall health, the process from receiving your implant, bonding with your jawbone and receiving your new teeth can take between 3 – 6 months; following your assessment appointment, our dental team will be able to give you a more accurate timeframe.

We will also conduct a thorough examination, which may include a full set of radiographs to ensure there is sufficient bone structure and gum thickness to support your implant.
