Inlays/Onlays | Full Mouth Rehabilitation | Tooth Whitening

The development of new techniques and materials available has paved the way for stronger, more natural looking tooth restorations. Inlays and onlays have become the treatment of choice over silver amalgam fillings with patients who want to recapture their white smile.

Inlays and onlays are also more conservative procedures than traditional silver fillings, as less natural tooth structure is required to be removed during the tooth’s preparation.

One of the most advanced pieces of dental technology within our practice is our CEREC machine. Once your tooth is prepared and all the decay removed, a 3D computerised image is obtained of your prepared tooth and the inlay or onlay is designed using computer software.

Diamond coated milling instruments then sculpt a solid block of ceramic while you are still relaxed in our dental chair. This means what was once a two-appointment procedure requiring moulds that were then sent to a dental laboratory who made your inlay or onlay, can now be completed in a single visit using Computer Aided Design/Computer Aided Manufacture (CAD/CAM) technology.

The porcelains used in this procedure have a similar co-efficient of thermal expansion as teeth and so once firmly bonded in place, create a strong, good looking and durable restoration.
